This is a curious collection, including as it does a Ewan MacColl song which we remain unconvinced featured Kirsty at all and worse, it’s right in the middle of the running order. A good Bragg track makes up for it though, and it was an inexpensive and fairly nicely done package.
Your entertainment comprises songs from early singles (1, 2, 3, 8), some B sides (5, 6, 7, 10, 11), a 12” remix (12), a song from a 90s Sharon Shannon CD, a Billy Bragg track which Kirsty sings on (beautifully) (13) and that misguided Ewan MacColl number (9).
As a huge Kirsty MacColl fan i don’t normally go for compilation albums but I have this one. I think its a nice mix of old and newer material.
As a folk fan it would be nice to think it was Kirsty backing her dad Ewan MacColl.
