We present Heart Shaped Stone, with a new YouTube upload of her ‘They Don’t Know’ cover.
Ron Sexsmith covered ‘They Don’t Know’ back in February as part of his acoustic online series. Better late than never, so here it is!
He’s sung TDK before, we have a recording of him at a White Ribbon benefit concert in Canada several years back, when his other song was Stevie Wonder’s ‘I Was Born to Love Her’. Worked well.
Ron is about to tour the UK (briefly this month and more in depth in Sept/Oct) as well as other international dates. He is unquestionably worth catching.
Kirsty’s cover of ‘You Still Believe In Me’ makes a welcome appearance on this new Ace Records compilation of Brian Wilson songs, and as the notes say, “those who own a copy of MacColl’s harmony-drenched single might have noticed a message etched into the run-off groove: God Bless Brian, a sentiment seconded by all lovers of great music.”
See the full track listing and order the CD from the Ace website.
It’s Jonathan Ramsey breathing fresh life into the great pantheon of Chip Shop covers! You can find him at jonathanramsey.com.
Here’s the latest YouTube cover version of In These Shoes?, recorded by Lauren Rich, self accompanied on guitar. Also worth checking out at laurenrichmusic.co.uk.
Update: Philip Rambow was invited to the show, and recommends it highly as lots of fun. Running throughout June then moving to the Edinburgh Festival Fringe in August.
