Linda & Mike Fletcher's cover of 'There's a guy works down the chip shop'

Linda & Mike Fletcher’s cover version of ‘There’s a guy works down the chip shop’, recorded for the 2020 Facebook Music Lockdown Challenge. The song was written by Kirsty MacColl and Phil Rambow.

Linda was the co-host of the ITV pop music TV programme ‘Get it Together’ between 1977-1980. Linda & Mike Fletcher worked together live in various line-ups around the world between 1973-2018.

It’s getting hard to find anyone NOT covering Fairytale of New York, so delighted to find this from 2 weeks ago 🙂

Do Men Of North Country know?

Men of North Country - They Don't Know (Kirsty MacColl cover)

Listen to Men Of North Country taking on “They Don’t Know”.

Their label—Well Suspect Records—says “Kirsty was and always will be the queen of songwriters, ruling many a genre. No one sang like her, no one was sassier and no one softer; and sadly no one had a more tragic ending. Twenty years after her untimely death, MONC had to cover one of her tunes; her crown jewel, one of those ‘best songs ever’. A tune that refines that feeling of ‘us against the world’, and of course, somehow manages to transcend it. The perfect pop song and a taster of things to come – a new MONC album due for release in 2021 on Well Suspect Records.”

We’ve been a bit busy but with the covers week it’s better late than never!

Fairytale From Salzburg

Fairytale of New York- Sung by Declan Rynne. Silent Night Chapel Salzburg (virtualbusking)

Hi everyone. This video was made during the Covid 19 lockdown at the Stillenacht Kapelle in Oberndorf bei Salzburg, where the song Silent Night was written and composed. I decided to sing the ultimate Irish Christmas song. What else could I do? Thanks again for watching .  Posted by Declan Rynne in April.
