FREEWORLD
rebooted
This is an independently run site with no direct source of income. You can help me out by buying something from amazon via these links.
and freeworld gets a small commission each time. Best of all, it costs you nothing extra!
If you don’t wish to buy from amazon you can still help me out by sending a donation via Paypal, all donations most welcome, no matter how small!
You don’t get any additional site content, you just get to feel good about yourself :o) We would offer a smaller amount but it would just disappear in paypal fees.
We do not store any personal information from visitors, with the exception of the contact form, comments boxes and guest book. Your IP address is never recorded.
We don't display a lot of ads on this website. There are some small links to amazon in the left banner, if you choose to buy stuff from there using these links we will get a small commission, that's all. You don't have to.
On pages with an embedded YouTube video, we have no control over what YouTube (Google) does, and they may show onscreen ads, and may track your visits to those pages and beyond. If you click through on those ads the copyright holders will receive a small commission if they have asserted their rights (e.g. Union Square), which is why we are permitted to use those links.
We also use google analytics for general visitor statistics (this is not personally identifiable by us, though it might be by google).
Ah just realized, since this was November it was definitely the CMJ Convention. There must be a recording of the panel somewhere although I don’t recall her saying much.
I met Kirsty during that NY trip. She was on a panel at a music convention (I can’t remember if it was cmj or nms). There were so many cool people on the panel and Kirsty was sitting all the way to the end and didn’t say much. I was a long time fan and was just in awe. I was so excited to see her and even though I was very shy at the time and rarely approached people, I knew I had to say hello to her. I thought she might appreciate meeting me since she sadly, never made it really big in the US. The panel took place in what was the Vista Hotel in the WTC. I can’t remember exactly what I said, but I did tell Kirsty that I was a huge fan and had loved her for years. I’pretty sure I mentioned how much I loved “Mother’s Ruin”, as the song still nts me after all these years. She was so friendly and sweet and thanked me for saying hello. I had tears in my eyes! I’so glad I had a chance to meet her. I still cry every time I think of her. ❤️
Fascinating interview. Thanks.

So lovely to hear Kirsty’s voice again. Her witty lyrics still unrivalled.
What a priceless and precious interview this is. Wonderful to hear Kirsty in person being so candid and funny. Thanks to whoever found it.
