Broadcaster and journalist Dave Mason found some old tapes recently while clearing out his loft. He will be broadcasting the archive during his regular Friday show between 2-5pm on Radio Bath. We think the slot will be round about 3:30pm, with a different artist being featured every week – it was Alison Moyet today.
“I presented on radio in the north of England, where we invited chart acts to play acoustically for my specialist show. I produced and recorded them, often with just a guitar, their vocals and a touch of reverb. I found dozens of forgotten reel to reel tapes.
Some of the sessions are spine-tinglingly good but the most poignant one for me is when we recorded Kirsty live in the studio in 1995.”
The station plans to use any business sponsorship for the feature to continue its work in supporting local good causes.
